Our Ocean Conference

The European Union hosts the fourth edition of the "Our Ocean" conference entitled "An Ocean for Life", which is being held in Malta on 5 and 6 October 2017.
The conference is dedicated to the most important marine and ocean related topics such as marine protected areas, sustainable fisheries, marine pollution, climate change, sustainable blue economy and maritime security.
Since its first edition in 2014, our "Ocean" conference has triggered some 250 concrete actions, devoting more than 8 billion euros to the ocean conservation. This year's conference builds on these results and seeks to commit the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists and civil society to invest in new solutions for the conservation of marine resources.
At the same time, the conference also deals with issues of the development of blue economy in areas such as aquaculture, renewable energy sources, blue biotechnology, coastal tourism and marine mineral resources. The aim of the conference is to encourage various stakeholders to work together to realize the full potential of sustainable blue economy.
Schedule events as well as live monitoring of the conference can be found at: https://ourocean2017.org/
The next edition of the "Our Ocean" conference will be held in 2018 in Indonesia and 2019 in Norway.
